Have you ever wanted to write a book, start a blog, record a podcast, climb a mountain, surf a wave, make a million dollars, {insert your most powerful bucket list item here}?

My guess is, yes. There is a beautiful little soul seed that you have been hiding away from the world for some time now. I see you, Mama. Life gets in the way. How could you possibly find time for that thing, when you can barely find time to go to the bathroom? Between soccer practice, work, housekeeping, 24/7 #snackbitch mode and all of the other hats atop your messy bun, it feels impossible to think about your dreams, let alone realize them.

Guess what though? I’m here to tell you that it is not only possible, but done if you lock it in. I am not going to tell you it’s easy. I’m not going to tell you that by repeating affirmations and meditating daily at 6am it will fall in your lap. I’m going to share my simple strategies with you for locking in your desires and making your bucket list dreams a reality.

Take the first step. Let it be messy and imperfect. When your kiddo is learning to walk, do you discourage them from trying again when they fall? Be okay with the wobble at first.

Set your coordinates. Like a GPS, set your dream destination. Know the goal (writing a book, starting a business) but don’t only focus on the results, or even the details. Allow your GPS to recalculate...often. Get lost, ask for directions, know where you are going but don’t let those inevitable obstacles be roadblocks.

Eat the elephant. Figuratively of course. Take on tasks, one bite at a time, make them digestible. Taking on too much can overwhelm your already full plate. One step every day will get you closer than standing still. Time block 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 60 minutes—whatever you can spare.

Lean in. Listen to your gut. When you lean in, you can hear your souls whispers better. If a tree leans, you know the roots are strong. Let your roots guide you, trust your foundation. Your intuition will not steer you wrong so tune in to your inner guidance system and make sure to ask lots of questions.

Don’t quit. I know it sounds cliché but, the only way to truly fail is to give up entirely. Who cares if it takes two, five, even 10 years of recalculating those coordinates? When you plant a seed, does it grow overnight? No. It requires sowing, nurturing, adequate light and nourishment. Do not let external sources block your light or harm your environment.

If there is one thing I know, it’s this: Whatever you want, you can have. It might not fall in your lap or always feel easy but whatever it is, Mama, you’ve got this!
