kid-friendly activities new year's eve Dec 20, 2022

Sometimes it's hard to figure out what to do with little ones to ring in the new year—and most of the time making it to midnight is hard enough for Mom and Dad, never mind the kiddos. Here we've found a few kid-friendly events (both daytime and nighttime) that will be fun for everyone. Happy New Year!

Mini Noon Year's Eve Masquerade Ball at GlamaGal

Tweens will love to take part in this masquerade ball: They can make super-sparkly slime, get confetti manicures or glitter pop tattoos, rock some hair bling, create a 2023 affirmation glitter globe and take part in a balloon drop at noon! Cotton candy glitter-bomb drinks are served with some yummy pastries. Tickets are $59 per friend at either the Vaughan or Ajax locations.

Noon Year's Eve at the Toronto Public Library

Ringing in the new year at noon just makes sense if you have young kids. That's why the Toronto Public Library has many lunchtime events planned at various locations. Check out their list of events to see which one you'd like to attend!

Oshawa Celebrates the New Year

Celebrate from 6 pm to 9 pm in Oshawa! There's a stage with entertainment for the whole family (including magic, jumping castle, games and more!), as well as button-making, axe-throwing, a colouring mural, public swimming, skating and more. Plus, ring in the new year at 9 pm. And the best part? It's all free!

Richmond Hill's First Night: A New Year's Eve Celebration

Come together for a family-friendly New Year's countdown in downtown Richmond Hill! There's an outdoor dance party, a game of human foosball, live entertainment, delicious treats and "Rockin' Around the Clock" themed activities. You can also reserve your seats for a performance by Juno-nominated singer-songwriter Elijah Woods. To top it off, there's an early countdown starting at 8:45 pm so no one has to stay out too long past their bedtimes.

Toronto New Year's Eve at Nathan Phillips Square

So far the city's been keeping the festivities quiet, so we're not really sure what's going to be happening this year, but between the Cavalcade of Lights, skating in the square and just being downtown on this exciting night, there's fun to be had for sure. Keep an eye out here for more information!
