7 things to do with kids in the GTA for the holidays

activities holidays Dec 12, 2022

There are so many things around the city that you can do with kiddos to celebrate the season. From inexpensive (read: free!) walks or drives through scenic areas to ticketed events that they'll love, here are some fun adventures you can have as a family in the next couple of weeks.

Bloor-Yorkville Holiday Magic

Following its annual tradition, visitors of Bloor-Yorkville can shop, dine and take in the neighbourhood's art and cultural attractions surrounded by holidays lights and tree-lined streets. There's something to marvel at every turn.

Casa Loma's Christmas at the Castle

Guests will be surrounded by holiday magic at Casa Loma over the holiday season—including a 40-foot tree in the main hall and eight other trees by Canadian designers (see you if you can find them all!). Plus, kids can visit Santa, do some holiday crafts and so much more.

The Distillery Winter Village

Talk a walk through the cobblestone streets of the Distillery District while you shop for that perfect gift (or, you know, for yourself). Kids will love the carollers and live entertainment, but don't forget to find Santa and his elves for a selfie!

Glow Toronto

Have some fun at Canada’s premium indoor Christmas festival! With light gardens that will blow your mind, entertainment, a maker’s market, cookie-making, yummy eats, and Glen the “Glow-comotive," there’s little something for everyone. Oh, and you can visit Santa, too, obviously.

Holiday Fair in the Square

Nathan Phillips Square is transformed into a magical winter wonderland. There's an artisan marketplace, tasty food, Polar Point bar for mom and dad, plus Santa's Village, a Holiday Midway and, of course, skating for the kids!

Inglewood Drive "Kringlewood" Santas

Though an official “event,” the residents of Inglewood Drive in Toronto have taken it upon themselves to each decorate their front lawns with identical blow-up Santas. Kids will love taking a drive down this festive street and seeing how many big red guys they can count.

Legoland Holiday Bricktacular

Celebrate the holidays at Legoland between now and December 31st—enjoy seasonal LEGO activities, including a scavenger hunt, build-your-own ornaments, a creative workshop and even a New Year Balloon drop at noon on New Year's Eve.
